Osaka Castle, Japan

Osaka Castle, Japan

On the last day, we took a trip to Osaka Castle for some flower viewing.

It took some time to enter the castle as the crowd formsat the entrance. The castle is about 7 or 8 storeys if I am not mistaken. It is accessible by both lift and stairs but we made the decision of waiting for the lift and walking our way down. The view from the castle ground:

We got to the top of the castle for the view but the deck was crowded and the view is obstructed by wire fence. We headed down to the next storey.

Nice? Meh.

The exhibit of the castle revolves around the historical and political aspects of Osaka Castle, the contest of power, grueling details of warfare, and the reconstruction of the castle. It is told in a way of interactive story telling, allowing visitors to walk through the story with 3D television displays with English translation.

I shall not bore you with the details, but it is actually quite interesting for adults. The other levels comprises of artifacts and displays to re-enact the scenes which had taken place a few centuries ago.

We left the castle with some souvenirs, including 2 plastic samurai sword key chains we were asked to disposed at the custom. (Zzz)

The castle grounds were really gorgeous in the autumn so we took some time to tour around the outskirts. The place is massive and we took a few hours to stroll around, appreciate a live band and content ourselves with photo taking.

That marks the end of our trip to Osaka Castle.

The castle tour is educational and engaging (to us at least)but some people might find it boring. We been there in late November and the autumn leaves were gorgeous. There are many thematic gardens and parks in the castle premise but the autumn leaves are not to be missed.

There were food stalls that are cheaper so it is possible to be selectively despite being a touristy spot. There were game stalls as well but we did not try because they did not interest us. If we were to go again, I would probably apply more sunscreen and take more photos!
